Many brushes are translucent (as you can see in the screenshot below, against a black background) and, when layered, create some rather interesting patterns (in my opinion). When using them, you'll notice that many form rings (circle outlines) when applied in short strokes to the canvas, but when used in straight lines or spirals, they produce spheres and spirals with fine lines. Furthermore, many brushes have the abbreviations SC, RC, or SRC after their name. These stand for "Cyclic Size," "Cyclic Rotation," and "Cyclic Size and Rotation." If you apply these brushes precisely and continue applying strokes in the same spot on the canvas, the circles will rotate, shrink, or expand, or even both. You can also paint individual spheres with delicate lines in a single brushstroke or, by painting in a spiral, create spiraling rings (as shown below). You can adjust the spacing or transparency of each brush in the "Brush Editor".

I was fascinated by the possibilities offered by Affinity Photo thanks to a brush consisting of a simple, thin circle. I also filled some of these circles with different gradients and textures of glitter and gold, recolored some and blended others, thus creating several brushes.

I aimed to create delicate, airy brushes that, when used, produce fine circles and spiral lines. Most of these brushes are opaque, but when you click several times in the same spot, the color darkens slightly.

Among the new brushes are simple shapes reminiscent of leaves or flames, in shades of green, purple, blue, orange, and more (notably the "Pastel Rainbow Flame" brush and the two "Autumn Flame" brushes, 141 to 145). The "Mesh Warp" tool allows you to deform and manipulate them to create all sorts of shapes. Experiment...

Furthermore, due to the large file size, I had to divide the brush set into two parts:

I've uploaded a PowerPoint presentation showcasing all the brushes from the "Colors" set so you can see what they look like, with examples of stamping, strokes, and spirals. Download it using the link above.

Many of the brushes are translucent (as you can see from the screengrab below, over black) and, when laid over each other, create quite interesting designs (I think). When you use them, you will notice that many are annuli (circle outlines) when you 'dab' once on the canvas, but when you paint with them in a line or spiral, they produce fine lined spheres and spirals. Also, many of the brushes have SC, RC or SRC after the brush name. This is Size Cyclic, Rotation Cyclic and Size & Rotation Cyclic, which, if you are careful and continue to 'dab' on the same point on the canvas, the circles either rotate, become smaller or larger, or both. Alternatively, you can paint individual spheres of delicate lines with a brush stroke or, if you paint in a spiral, you create spiralling annuli (as below). You can adjust the spacing or transparency of any brush in the 'Brush Editor'.

I have been fascinated by what you can create in Affinity Photo using a brush made up of a simple fine circle outline. Also, I have filled some of these fine circle outlines with different gradients and textures of glitter and gold, recolored some of them and faded others, and created a number of brushes with the results.

I have tried to create delicate, ethereal brushes (mostly) that, when you paint with them, produce fine circles and spiraling lines, so many of the brushes are opaque, but when you click on the same point multiple times, the brush 'dab' darkens.

Several of the new brushes are simple leaf or flame-like shapes in green, purple, blue, orange, etc, (incl the 'Pastel Rainbow Flame' brush and the two 'Autumn Flame' brushes, 141-145), but you can distort and manipulate them into all kinds of shapes using the 'Mesh Warp' tool. Experiment…

Also, because of the large file size, I have had to split the brush set into two parts:

I have uploaded a PowerPoint screenshow of all the brushes in the 'Colours' brush set so you can see what the brushes look like, with examples of dab, stroke and spiral in many cases. Download at link above.
